The actual division of the cell into two new cell is called?

  • Mitosis cell division process

In mitosis, 1 parent cell divides into two identical daughter cells which carries the same genetic information from the parent cell. Mitotic cell division only occurs in somatic cells in which it produces diploid cell unlike meiosis which makes 4 daughter cells carrying different genetic information and only a haploid cell.
